Unique Tang Dynasty Aristocrat Mural Tomb

The Luoyang Cultural Relics Task Force basically completed the excavation of the Tang Dynasty tombs in Xinzhuang Village, Pingle Town, Mengjin County. Judging from the excavation situation, the tomb is composed of three parts, the tomb gate, the ramp, and the tomb. The tomb is about 21 meters long and 2.4 meters wide. It is a ramp-type tomb road. There are two groups of murals painted on both sides of the ramp. The mural content is the Tang Dynasty civil servant. The burial chamber is 4 meters to 5 meters in height, round, about 6.85 meters in diameter. According to reports, this is a late Tang Dynasty mural tombs, the unique dome circular system in the city found in the same period of tombs are relatively rare. The scale of the tombs and the cultural relics unearthed at the site can be initially determined. The tombs of the tombs have a high status and should be the tombs of the nobles of the late Tang Dynasty.

The cultural relics unearthed in the tomb room include copper studs, porcelain bowls, porcelain plates, and powder boxes on the tomb doors, as well as several coins written with Kaiyuantongbao. What is most noteworthy is that around the wall of the tomb, there are many brick sculptures with doors, windows, cupboards, tables, and so on, which reproduce the ancient people's life scene.

Unfortunately, as the tomb was stolen and the epitaph was lost, the identity of the owner of the tomb is currently difficult to determine. However, according to the archaeological excavations of the Tang Dynasty tombs, the generally tombs with murals are generally high in specification, and the shape of the tombs is unique. Most of the artifacts unearthed are gold-plated, and it can be initially determined that this is a noble tomb.
